About Joelsa Farm

We are small but strong in our neck of the woods. We are located in New Gloucester in the heart of a sweet little horse community. On our eight acres we can help others learn the joys of being a horse person and let them in to our world that we love so much. We have access to miles of trails which one of our close friends lets us enjoy on our leisure time. We enjoy horse people from all trails of life and are open to all disciplines.

What We do

Here at Joelsa Farm we enjoy it all!
Though we do train and teach to riders who wish to compete we also enjoy our riders who learn for the pleasure of it. There is no piece of information on riding that can go to waste and we try to learn and teach from all of our experiences!*We teach and train horses in dressage and natural horsemanship, as well as low level jumping*Enjoy hours of time spent in the saddle on the trails that surround us*Participate in clinics from dressage and natural horsemanship to eventing, team penning and more!*We travel to USDF & USEF shows throughout New England, as well as "A" Rated Morgan shows, local MeCTA events, and schooling shows.

Meet the Horses

Sally is a 19 year young Quarter horse mare. She is 16 hands high and Dun in color. She is one of our prized possessions. She is a fabulous lesson horse with a huge heart and lots of personality. She is trained western and with natural horsemanship, but does low level dressage and even does a little jumping. She is an excellent trail horse and knows the ropes.

Kado is a 5 year old Paint Gelding. He is shy of 15 hands, but within his stocky build is an overflowing personality. He is not a lesson horse yet, but with time he will be a great do - it- all horse. He is being trained with natural horsemanship, dressage and jumping, but there are plans for him to learn cutting and team penning.

JC is our veteran mustang gelding. He has been around for a long time and has seen everything. He is retired except to very small riders. He is in his 30's and being the boss keeps him young! He has the sweetest personality and is a true gem.

Rosie is a 15 hand, 18 year old, bay Morgan mare. She is a fabulous lesson horse and has been in the dressage world for a long time. She is trained in dressage and low level jumping, though she trail rides, goes western, and does a lot of natural horsemanship. She is a veteran show horse and is a true partner.

Scarlet & Griffy are our first horses that we ever had. We have had them 12 years making Griffy 12 years old and scarlet around 20. They came to us as a pair from Mississippi; it is really a sweet story so please keep checking back for it. Scarlet is Griffy's mother and they have been together from day one. We use them with our young or timid riders to learn grooming skills, as well as respect for our four legged friends. Since they are Miniature Horses they cannot be ridden. They are as sweet as they are cute and are always willing to take your treats.

Teddy is our 8-10 year old chestnut Quarter horse gelding. He came to us recently, and if you have the chance please check out his blog. He is not in our program yet, but will be someday when he is done healing from a wound. He is sweet and charming, always very affectionate.
